The International Security Advisory Board

Dr. Robert L. Pfaltzgraff, Jr., president of IFPA, serves on the International Security Advisory Board of the Department of State. The Board includes expertise drawn from experience in government, business, and the scientific and academic communities. Membership on this board includes a range of outside experts capable of making various types of inputs to the policy process.

The purpose of the Board is to provide the Secretary of State and other senior Department officials with insight and advice on vital national security challenges, including issues such as WMD terrorism and counterproliferation. The ISAB is currently conducting a Study on China’s Strategic Modernization Programs and Priorities. Previous ISAB studies include:
