Dr. Charles M. Perry

Dr. Perry is vice president and director of studies at the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis, Inc., and vice president of National Security Planning Associates, Inc. He has written extensively on a variety of national and international security issues, especially with respect to NATO affairs and European security, arms trade and technology transfer problems, proliferation trends, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and resource security issues. Principal areas of current research and analysis encompass NATO defense planning; security developments in the Nordic-Baltic region; corporate strategies for international defense collaboration; and Asia-Pacific arms control and security issues, including those related directly to Japan, the Korean peninsula, and Southeast Asia.

 

Dr. Perry presently directs a large number of Institute studies that focus on missile defense, forward presence, alliance relations, and regional power projection. Dr. Perry holds an M.A. in international affairs, an M.A. in law and diplomacy, and a Ph.D. in international politics from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. He has served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve.
