Mr. Ricky Trotman

Mr. Trotman joined IFPA in 2011 as a research associate with the Washington, D.C. office. His work at IFPA includes support to the Rapid Strategic Assessment project, which works with NATO Special Operations Headquarters in carrying out its core missions, as well as analysis of security issues in the Asia-Pacific region and current trends in missile defense.  

Prior to joining IFPA, Mr. Trotman’s research experience included space and missile defense, domestic and international terrorism, and the national security policymaking process. He held positions with the Midge Smith Center for Evaluation Effectiveness, the Heritage Foundation, and the Office of Congressman Frank LoBiondo. He also worked as a research assistant for Mitchell Reiss, former Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State.

Mr. Trotman holds an M.A. in security policy studies from George Washington University. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, in international relations and history from the College of William and Mary. He is proficient in Italian.
